Job summary

MercyOne Health System is hiring a Patient Care Tech for the Des Moines metro area. This 12-hour day shift role supports clinical staff by delivering patient care, assisting with activities of daily living, and preparing patients and rooms for procedures.

Minimum qualifications include being at least 16 years old, completion of Mandatory Reporter training within 3 months, and BLS certification within 6 weeks. MercyOne offers competitive pay and benefits within a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age.
• Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter – Child and/or Dependent Adult Abuse training within three (3) months of hire.
• American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers certification within six (6) weeks of hire.

Responsibilities

• Delivers assigned patient care and treatment as delegated by RN or LPN.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living and mobility.
• Responds to patient calls and ensures safety and comfort.
• Records vital signs and documents in patient health records.
• Assists with procedures and prepares rooms and equipment.
