Job summary

Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The role may involve floating to multiple hospital campuses within SMHCS.

The position requires active CNA/EMT/Paramedic licensure or eligibility for CNA exam, plus BLS/CPR certification and a high school diploma. Preferred candidates have basic computer skills.

Qualifications

• The Patient Care Technician performs tasks supportive to delivery of patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
• Must hold or be eligible for a Florida CNA/EMT/Paramedic license, or be a nursing student meeting program prerequisites.
• Completion of a Florida State Board-approved program and Florida CNA licensure within 120 days of graduation is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care support under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• May float to all Sarasota Memorial Health Care System hospital campuses.
