WH Wheeling Hospital Inc. in Wheeling, WV is seeking a Patient Care Tech/Patient Care Sitter (Float Pool).

This role provides nonprofessional direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse, supporting comfort, hygiene and safety for patients. Key duties include measuring vital signs, assisting with admissions and transfers, preparing patients for examinations, reporting changes to the RN, and maintaining a clean, safe environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.
• Prior patient care experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Observes and reports changes in patient condition to a registered nurse immediately.
• Assists the RN with admission, transfer, discharge and general patient care duties.
• Records vital signs and assists in personal hygiene and comfort measures.
• Assists in specimen collection and other patient care activities.
• Maintains a clean, safe environment to prevent infections and ensure safety.
• Communicates with RN regarding nutrition issues and diet changes.
• Answers patient call bells and relays messages to the appropriate personnel.
