Job summary

Northside Hospital Inc. is seeking a Patient Care Technician to provide nursing assistance and patient care to ensure comfort, safety, and personal needs of patients. The role supports activities of daily living and performs hygiene-related duties as part of a unit-based, self-directed care team.

The position requires BLS, CNA on Georgia Registry, and at least one year of direct patient care experience. Other CMA credentials may be considered.

Qualifications

• BLS certification from American Heart Association.
• CNA on Georgia Registry is required.
• At least 1 year of direct patient care experience (CNA/PCT/ED Tech or similar).
• Alternative credentials acceptable: CMA (AAMA/AMT/NHA) as listed.

Responsibilities

The Patient Care Technician provides nursing assistance and patient care to provide for the comfort, safety and personal needs of patients. Assists patients with activities of daily living and performs procedures for physical hygiene and comfort of patients. Performs duties with the construct of a unit-based, self-directed patient care team while sharing various tasks with other licensed and non-licensed members.

Qualifications

REQUIRED

• Must hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Certified Nursing Assistant on the Georgia Registry
• One (1) year of patient care experience, as a CNA, PCT, Military Medic, ED Tech or other relevant acute, direct patient care experience.

OR

Certified Medical Assistant awarded by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)

OR

Registered Medical Assistant awarded by the American Medical Technologists (AMT)

OR

Certified Clinical Medical Assistant awarded by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA)

PREFERRED

• Visual color acuity depending on the role in specific units.
