Job summary

AdventHealth Daytona Beach seeks a Patient Care Technician to join the team. The role includes bedside patient care under RN supervision, documentation, and collaboration with the care team in a fast-paced setting.

Shifts are 3/12 hours with rotating weekends, and full-time coverage is required. BLS, CNA, CPCT/A, and EMT certifications are required. Competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package are offered.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Grad or Equiv [Required]
• Work Experience: 1+ applicable PCT experience [Preferred]
• Previous bedside patient care in an acute care unit, unit secretary, monitor technician, or equivalent medical experience [Preferred]

Responsibilities

• Provide treatments according to policy and procedure, delivering patient care appropriate to age, mobility, acuity, and culture.
• Assist in delivering patient care as a team member under the direction of a registered nurse.
• Document and report all procedures in accordance with department policy.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.

Job Description:

Full Time 3/12 hour shifts including rotating weekends Shifts available both days and nights 7:00am-7:00pm or 7:00pm-7:00am Performs treatments according to policy and procedure, providing patient care appropriate to age, mobility, acuity, and culture. Functions appropriately in clinical emergencies. Participates in practice changes resulting from performance improvement activities and supports quality standards and initiatives. Follows prescribed isolation guidelines, demonstrates appropriate use of protective equipment, performs handwashing according to policy, and enforces safety regulations. Exhibits a desire to learn and upgrades skills continuously. Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members. Maintains a clean and safe environment for patients and staff. Assists in the delivery of patient care as a team member under the direction of a registered nurse. Documents and reports all procedures in accordance with department policy. Participates in obtaining a nursing history and reports abnormalities to the registered nurse. Assists in identifying patient needs Other duties as assigned.
