Job summary

Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall, MO is seeking a compassionate Patient Care Tech for our Behavioral Health Unit. The role focuses on delivering patient-centered care in a 10-bed inpatient BHU with 24/7 nursing support. Shift is 7p-7a, full-time (72 hours every two weeks).

We value excellent bedside manners, strong communication, and experience in behavioral health to support patients ages 18-65 in a therapeutic environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care in the Behavioral Health Unit, monitoring and assisting patients.
• Assist with activities of daily living and ensure patient safety in a 10-bed unit.

About Our Behavioral Health Unit

Our 10-bed inpatient Behavioral Health Unit (BHU) at Fitzgibbon Hospital provides care for patients needing treatment of acute episodes of mental illness. The unit is open around the clock and designed to provide mental health care to patients ages 18 to 65. We accept both voluntary and involuntary patients. BHU provides psychiatry services, individual and group therapy, social work services, and 24/7 nursing care in a supportive, therapeutic environment. Treatment is based on patient-driven care to ensure success upon discharge. With an average length of stay of 3 to 5 days, we strive to stabilize patients and integrate them into community mental health services.
