Job summary

Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall, MO is seeking a compassionate Patient Care Tech to join the 10-bed inpatient Behavioral Health Unit. You will work full-time in a 7a-7p shift, providing direct patient care and collaborating with psychiatry, therapy, and social work teams to support patients during acute episodes of mental illness.

The role emphasizes excellent bedside manner, strong communication, and the ability to deliver patient-driven care in a busy hospital environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care in the 10-bed inpatient Behavioral Health Unit.

About Our Behavioral Health Unit

Our 10-bed inpatient Behavioral Health Unit (BHU) at Fitzgibbon Hospital provides care for patients needing treatment of acute episodes of mental illness. The unit is open around the clock and designed to provide mental health care to patients ages 18 to 65. We accept both voluntary and involuntary patients. BHU provides psychiatry services, individual and group therapy, social work services, and 24/7 nursing care in a supportive, therapeutic environment. Treatment is based on patient-driven care to ensure success upon discharge. With an average length of stay of 3 to 5 days, we strive to stabilize patients and integrate them into community mental health services.
