Saint Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center (SJHMC) in Phoenix, AZ seeks a Patient Care Technician to deliver essential direct patient care under clinical supervision. You will assist with personal care, mobility, feeding, monitor vital signs, document observations, and support the nursing team in procedures and transports.

The role requires completion of a nursing assistant or EMT program (or first block of nursing) and AZ CNA/EMT certification, plus American Heart Association BLS.

Formación

  • Completion of nursing assistant program, EMT program, or first block of nursing program.
  • Arizona CNA/EMT certification; American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Strong communication and genuine care for patients required.

Responsabilidades

  • Assist nurse/physician during examinations, treatments and procedures as needed.
  • Retrieve equipment and supplies for daily tasks.
  • Assist in patient and equipment preparation for procedures or transports.
  • Perform follow-up actions as directed by nursing staff.
  • Document clinically relevant findings in the patient’s record per hospital protocols.
  • Prepare patients for transportation to other departments.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Patient Care Technician (PCT), you will deliver essential direct patient care under the supervision of our clinical team. Leveraging your knowledge of basic patient care principles and medical terminology, you will perform a range of daily duties.

Every day you will actively assist patients with personal care, mobility, and feeding, monitoring vital signs, documenting observations, and maintaining a therapeutic and organized patient environment. You will also work closely with the nursing team to prepare patients for procedures or transport.

To be successful in this role requires a genuine passion for patient well-being, diligence in executing tasks, keen observational skills regarding patient conditions, and a proactive approach to continuous learning and professional development.

  • Assists the nurse/physician during examinations, treatments and procedures as requested
  • Retrieves necessary equipment and supplies
  • Assists in patient/equipment preparation
  • Performs follow-up actions as directed
  • Documents clinically relevant findings in the patient's record according to hospital protocols
  • Prepares patients for transportation to other departments/areas
Job Requirements
  • Completion of nursing assistant program, or EMT program, or completion of first block of nursing program
  • Emergency Medical Technician: AZ or Certified Nursing Assistant: AZ
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support

Pay Range

$19.49 - $27.52 /hour
