Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking a dedicated Patient Care Technician for our Urgent Care in Paducah. The role involves assisting with examination and treatment under physician or APP supervision, checking in patients, recording vital signs, reconciling medications, and maintaining accurate medical histories.

You will also support patient flow and care coordination, including EPIC navigation. The position requires basic computer skills, a High School Diploma or equivalent, and BLS or equivalent training

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills, navigating databases containing highly confidential information.
• BLS training within 90 days of hire.
• Orientation/externship and additional training as needed.

Responsibilities

• Examination and treatment of patients under the direct supervision of the physician or advanced practice clinician.
• Check in patients and obtain vital signs (height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, pulse oximetry, temperature).
• Medication reconciliation and gathering patient medical history information.
• Expedite patient flow and room patients to be seen promptly.
• Stock clinic with supplies and navigate the electronic health record system (EPIC).
• Perform other non-clinical duties as needed.

BHMG Urgent Care Paducah Full Time PCT The Patient Care Technician will be responsible for the examination and treatment of patients under the direct supervision of the physician or advanced practice clinician. Duties include but not limited to the following: check in patients, obtaining vital signs (height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, pulse oximetry, temperature) medication reconciliation patient medical history information expediting patient flow rooming patients stocking clinic with supplies navigating electronic health record system (EPIC) performing other non-clinical duties as needed. The PCT will communicate in a respectful manner and will uphold Baptist’s mission and core values that drive service excellence.

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills, specifically with navigating within databases containing highly confidential information.
• Basic Life Support and other advanced training as appropriate, within 90 days of hire.
• Upon hire these disciplines will be required to attend orientation| externship and additional training as needed.
