Job summary

Bayhealth Medical Center is seeking an experienced OR RN for the Kent Campus in Dover, DE. A $15,000 signing bonus is available for eligible candidates who commit to full-time status and start by February 8, 2027.

Position requires at least three years of operating room nursing experience, valid RN license and BLS. ACLS/PALS may be needed per manager's direction, with a competitive benefits package offered.

Qualifications

• Must have RN licensure and BLS; ACLS/PALS may be required as directed.
• At least 3 years' operating room RN hospital experience.
• Willingness to join full-time schedule and meet signing bonus conditions.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct RN care in an operating room setting.
• Develop patient-centered care plans for surgical patients.
• Document care accurately and maintain patient confidentiality.
• Administer medications per five rights and monitor responses.
• Assist with wound care, dressing changes and sterile technique.
• Collaborate with physicians to determine best treatment decisions.
• Support LPNs and unlicensed staff as assigned.
• Participate in quality and performance improvement activities.
• Communicate clearly with patients, families, and team members.
• Adhere to hospital policies, nursing philosophy, and safety standards.
• Maintain readiness for emergencies and ensure equipment readiness.
• Provide education to patients and care partners about plans.
• Contribute to a positive and respectful team environment.
• Complete timely and accurate documentation of patient care.
• Support shift coverage and workload distribution as needed.
• Fulfill other duties within scope of the role.

SALARY RANGE: 37.98 - 58.87 HOURLY

General Summary:

The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care to patients within a assigned unit with a commitment to quality and safety. Professional nursing practices, requiring specialized knowledge judgment and skill are performed using the process in accordance with hospital policy, procedures and nursing philosophy.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide direct, professional nursing care to specified population of patients in the acute care setting.
2. Develops a patient centered plan of care based on individualized needs.
3. Maintains confidentiality of the patient medical record.
4. Counsel and educate patients and their care partner on treatment plans.
5. Administer medication following the five rights of medication administration.
6. Provide wound care and dressing changes, as applicable.
7. Read and interpret patient information, making treatment decisions, when appropriate.
8. Consult with physicians to decide on best treatment decisions when appropriate
9. Performs nursing interventions to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
10. Observe and record patient behavior and response to nursing interventions.
11. Demonstrates quality, safe and effective patient care.
12. Provides delegation to unlicensed assistive staff and Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) staff
13. Demonstrates standards of excellence which includes practicing nursing with core values of compassion, accountability, respect, teamwork and integrity.
14. Demonstrates understanding and executes quality and performance improvement plans. (only for RN evaluation)
15. Participates in decision making and takes actions based on ethical principles. (only for RN evaluation)
16. Provides timely and accurate documentation of patient care.
17. All other duties as assigned within the scope and range of job responsibilities.

Required Education, Credential(s) and Experience:

• Education: Associate DegreeNursingOr Nursing Diploma.
• Credential(s): Registered Nurse;Basic Life Support; *ACLS / PALS may be required per manager’s direction and timeframe*Commit to seeking specialty certification within time frame as indicated during interview
