Provides other support services, dictated by patient needs, as a care delivery team member. Utilizes effective and appropriate communication styles. Supports unit and hospital goals and objectives. **Job Duties*** Provides care to and related activities for designated patients using a patient/family centered approach and in accordance with established policies and procedures.* Employs astute observational skills and properly communicates findings, changes, or problems to the RN.* Uses effective and appropriate verbal and non-verbal communication styles with patients, significant others, visitors, staff, and professional colleagues.* Functions as a department team member to support unit-based patient experience goals as well as hospital goals and objectives.* Demonstrates team building skills by participating in the orientation of new staff, as assigned.* Performs validated technical skills based upon clinical specialty and unit practice.* Utilizes technology and incorporates technology to optimize alternative modes of care delivery.* Completes quality control checks on designated unit equipment, if applicable.* Conducts patient rounds as assigned, anticipates patient needs, and answers/responds to patient call light or pages promptly. **Minimum Qualifications*** High School Diploma/GED* Six months recent experience in direct provision of patient care activities, including treatments and/or diagnostic studies. or* upon hire, must successfully complete LVHN's inexperienced technical partner course.* Ability to follow direction and provide accurate reports.* Attainment and maintenance of unit-specific competencies.* Ability to organize and prioritize assignments in the delivery of patient care.* Basic computer skills.* BLS - Basic Life Support AHA - American Heart Association within 180 Days **Physical Demands** Lift and carry 40-50 lbs. Examples: Push/pull patients on bed, stretcher (requires 29 lbs. push force), lateral transfers up to 50 lbs. of the patient's weight. Frequent to continuous standing/walking. Patient transporters can walk 8-10 miles per shift. \\*Patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
