Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a Patient Care Partner for the Float Pool night shift at Hazleton. This 0.9 FTE position provides direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and rotates weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Attainment and maintenance of unit-specific competencies.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and related activities for designated patients under RN supervision.
• Observe and communicate findings, changes, or problems to the RN.
• Support unit-based patient experience goals and hospital objectives.
• Perform validated technical skills and participate in team-based care delivery.

Provides other support services, dictated by patient needs, as a care delivery team member. Utilizes effective and appropriate communication styles. Examples: Push/pull patients on bed, stretcher (requires 29 lbs. push force), lateral transfers up to 50 lbs. of the patient's weight. Frequent to continuous standing/walking. Patient transporters can walk 8-10 miles per shift. \*Patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
