Job summary

Cleveland Clinic's Main Campus is seeking a PCNA to support the H80 General Medicine/Telemetry Unit. You will work alongside a dedicated team, provide direct patient care under an RN, and help with daily activities and monitoring in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and BLS certification. Nursing students may substitute clinical rotation for experience. This on-site role features day/night shifts and a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities

• Provide or assist with patient care under RN supervision, including vitals and daily care.
• Report abnormal findings to the RN.
• Assist with keeping patient rooms clean and orderly.
• Assist with moving and lifting patients and equipment as needed.
• Apply and monitor external devices; remove Foley catheters when applicable.

A caregiver in this position works day/night rotation| 7:00am—7:30pm or 7:00pm—7:30am.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Provide or assist with patient care under the supervision of an RN, such as taking vital signs and weight, assisting patients with personal care, point of care testing, dressing changes, applying external monitoring devices and removing urinary Foley Catheters.
• Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to an RN.
• Assist with keeping patients’ rooms clean and orderly.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (required within new hire period)
• *Nursing students required to have Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross prior to hire
• Nursing students who have recently completed a minimum of one clinical rotation as part of an accredited nursing school program may substitute the clinical rotation for the required experience
• Military experience as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) considered

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) Certification

Physical Requirements

• Requires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good eye-hand coordination; involves extensive standing and walking.
• Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $18.25

Maximum hourly: $24.95
