Job description

Senior Technician - Acute Cardiology/Cardiothoracic Unit

Join Cleveland Clinic Akron General, a healthcare provider with over 100 years of experience serving the community. We are committed to patient-centered care, comfort, and community service, fostering a supportive environment for our caregivers.

Our 4200 Unit is a Complex Cardiovascular Unit caring for a diverse, high-acuity patient population, including post-surgical, vascular, lung, and cardiac patients, as well as those affected by the opioid epidemic requiring IV antibiotics and medications.

Shift: 11:00pm - 7:30am

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare units, patient rooms, and beds for admissions, transfers, or emergencies.
  • Provide and document patient care such as bathing, feeding, and changing linens.
  • Record vital signs and other patient measurements.
  • Perform treatment procedures and assist with pre- and post-operative care.
  • Assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
  • Conduct hourly safety rounds and respond promptly to call lights.
  • Document care in electronic medical records.
  • Complete required training and competency assessments.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through AHA or obtain during onboarding.
  • Experience with basic computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA).
  • One year of recent acute care experience.

Physical & Safety Requirements:
  • Full body motion, manual dexterity, extensive standing and walking.
  • Ability to exert force up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Use of personal protective equipment as required.
