Cleveland Clinic Health System is hiring a Patient Care Nursing Assistant for the Float Pool at our Cleveland Clinic Main Campus. You will work the night shift, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM, providing direct patient care under RN supervision across multiple units.
As a PCNA in the Float Pool, you will gain experience with diverse patient populations while learning from caregivers throughout the system. Minimum requirements include a high school diploma and BLS certification; STNA preferred.

As a Patient Care Nursing Assistant (PCNA), you’ll provide and assist with basic direct patient care activities under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), performing skills for which training and competency have been established. Working in the Float Pool, you’ll have the opportunity to care for diverse patient populations across multiple units, departments and locations while gaining valuable experience and learning from caregivers throughout Cleveland Clinic.
A caregiver in this position works part-time, nights, 7:00PM – 7:30AM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Provide or assist with patient care under the supervision of an RN. Patient care may include vital signs, weight, assisting patients with personal care and activities of daily living, patient transfers/transport, pulse oximetry, point of care testing, dressing changes, applying external monitoring devices and removing urinary Foley catheter.
Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to an RN.
Assist with keeping patients’ rooms clean and orderly.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
A high school diploma or GED
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
