Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Avon Hospital is seeking a PCNA to join the Stepdown Unit, supporting patient care under RN supervision and maintaining clean, orderly rooms. This role offers educational advancement and skill development opportunities within a caring healthcare environment.

The position requires the ability to work 7:00 p.m.–7:30 p.m. shifts, including weekends and holidays, with a strong emphasis on teamwork and patient safety. BLS certification is required or obtained during hire.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or must obtain during your new hire period.
• Nursing students: required to have Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) prior to hire.
• Nursing students who have recently completed a minimum of one clinical rotation as part of an accredited nursing school program may substitute the clinical rotation for the required experience.
• Military experience as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) will be considered.
• State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide or assist with patient care under the supervision of an RN.
• Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to an RN.
• Assist with keeping patients’ rooms clean and orderly.
