Job summary

The University of Kentucky is seeking a Patient Care Manager (RN) to provide 24-hour accountability for planning, supervising and evaluating patient care and nursing practice within the Interventional Radiology unit.

The role directs the business, technical and nursing support activities of the Interventional Radiology, prep and recovery departments and requires leadership, flexibility, and a BSN. Internal candidates may be considered.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed in Kentucky as RN or eligible by hire date.
• Paid, full-time RN experience required.
• Experience in Interventional Radiology or related area preferred.
• Paid nursing leadership experience within a hospital setting.

This position will require the ability to occasionally lift, push, and/or pull 50-100lbs; sitting/standing at a computer workstation for extended periods of time; repetitive motion; risk of injuries from use of equipment on the job; occasional cuts, punctures, bloodborne/airborne pathogens; and occasionally dealing with combative/violent people

Shift

UK Hospitals operate on a 24 hour, 7 days/week basis. Shift will vary and include days, nights, evenings, weekends, and holidays per departmental needs.

Job Summary

| The Patient Care Manager ( PCM ) assumes 24 hour accountability for planning, supervising and evaluating the care of patients and Nursing practice. The primary responsibilities are to provide for the safe, effective, and efficient care of the patient as well as to direct the business, technical and nursing support activities of the unit. This individual is responsible for the successful management of Interventional Radiology procedural and prep and recovery departments.
