Positions Supervised: RN, LPN, Patient Care Assistant, Care Concierge, Unit Secretary

Qualifications

Required:

  • Current North Carolina RN licensure (or compact state)
  • Minimum two (2) years of patient care experience

Preferred:

  • Bachelor of Nursing
  • Specialty Certification
  • Experience as a charge nurse in an acute care setting

  • Ability to comply with all safety and health standards, and all relevant rules, regulations, and orders

Role Responsibilities

Summary: The primary objective of the Patient Care Coordinator is to proactively manage patient flow while ensuring effective, quality care. This highly visible position requires exceptional communication and organizational skills. In partnership with leadership, the coordinator supports the assigned patient care areas, facilitates patient flow, and manages systematic patient care processes. Responsibilities include leading shift huddles, completing patient assignments, supporting daily operations, ensuring team members receive meals, resolving patient, team member, and provider complaints, and escalating issues to the Nurse Manager/Director of Nursing. Additionally, the coordinator supports organizational quality initiatives, throughput goals, and the completion of daily reports and checklists.
