Patient Care Coordinator | Part Time | OSC

Summary

Under the direction of the facility Director, provides administrative and data management support for the outpatient surgery center. The Patient Care Coordinator is the primary point of contact for patients, ensuring they and their families receive timely, efficient, and compassionate service. Responsibilities include receptionist duties, registration, scheduling, medical record management, and data entry.

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or GED; basic computer skills required. Additional training beyond high school, but less than an Associate's Degree, is desirable.

Certification, Registration & Licensure: None required.

Experience: None required; prior healthcare experience and knowledge of medical terminology are highly preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Greet patients and obtain signatures for required documentation.
  • Coordinate care across Pre-surgical Testing, Pre-op Holding, Operating Room, Post Anesthesia Care Unit, and COPA.
  • Create and maintain daily Operating Room schedules.
  • Manage incoming calls and departmental inquiries.
  • Maintain medical records.
  • Perform clerical tasks.
  • Participate in center activities.
  • Manage physician charge sheets for billing.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
