Job description

Job Details:

Responsible for the overall case coordination for all client’s patients.

Responsibilities
  • Provide support to specialty pharmacy teams/clients and their operations, including but not limited to completing prior authorization documentation, scheduling medication delivery and pick-up, retrieval and distribution of documents, and assisting patients in obtaining financial assistance within mandated timeframes.
  • Deliver an exceptional customer service experience daily in a phone-based environment.
  • Perform tasks such as prior authorizations, billing, and eligibility checks, which require outbound calls to patients.
  • Manage current case queues to resolve patient logistic issues related to deliveries, demographic changes, or insurance updates.
  • Partner with technicians and pharmacists to ensure successful onboarding of new patients to CarepathRx.
  • Make welcome calls to newly onboarded patients and establish a trusted contact point.
  • Make outbound calls to update or create patient and provider demographic profiles (non-clinical information).
  • Serve as backup support during high call volumes.
  • Assist with non-clinical patient questions; clinical questions are transferred to a licensed pharmacist.
  • Maintain organized and accurate files related to patient case coordination and services.
  • Adhere strictly to all policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with standards and guidelines.
  • Identify and document complaints, concerns, or deficiencies to the manager.
  • Provide excellent internal and external customer service, maintaining professionalism at all times.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Perform other non-clinical duties as directed by supervisors.
  • Educate prospective patients on hospital services and care improvements.
Skills & Abilities
  • Proficient in Windows, Excel, Word, and related programs.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable in a phone-based environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented.
  • Capable of using multiple software programs for medication authorizations and transfers.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for coordinating multiple contacts and advocating for patient care.
  • Organizational skills suitable for a fast-paced, sometimes unstructured environment.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Registered Pharmacy Technician in Pennsylvania; Florida license or ability to obtain one may be required.
  • Certification as a Pharmacy Technician in Pennsylvania; Florida license or ability to obtain one may be required.
  • National Certified Technician License (PTCB) preferred.
  • Willingness to become registered in multiple states including AL, NY, TN.
  • Minimum of 2 years healthcare/specialty pharmacy experience.
  • Knowledge of clinical and medical terminology preferred.
  • Understanding of pharmacy terminology, evaluation, and law.
  • Flexible with work schedule.
  • Ability to work remotely at a desk for 90% of the time.
