Position: Patient Care Coordinator

We are seeking a friendly, patient-focused, and detail-oriented individual to join our team at Reliant Medical Group (Gastroenterology). The role involves supporting clinical processes, working cooperatively with the care team, and ensuring excellent customer service while meeting financial and clinical goals.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5pm EST

Location: 4 Brotherton Way, Auburn, MA

Primary Responsibilities:
  1. Verify, re-verify, and authorize patient insurance coverage and eligibility using computer systems; update patient demographic and insurance information; manage encounter forms and submit to billing.
  2. Handle patient-care related calls, provide routine information, and refer to appropriate personnel.
  3. Prioritize and respond to emergency needs, contacting physicians as necessary.
  4. Address patient questions regarding scheduling, billing, prescriptions, and rescheduling.
  5. Document information in the system, prepare patient charts, and ensure completeness.
  6. Maintain and update the Telephone Message System (TMS), distribute messages accordingly.
  7. Enter referrals, ensure referral numbers are linked, and assist with referral-related inquiries and issues.
  8. Coordinate and communicate appointment schedules, including rescheduling and no-shows.
  9. Maintain recall lists and communicate with patients as needed.
  10. Assist with processing administrative paperwork and follow up to expedite actions.
  11. Guide departmental personnel on policies and procedures, and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
  12. Participate in professional development activities and meetings.
  13. Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications:
Required:
  • High School Diploma/GED or higher
  • 1+ years of healthcare, customer service, or administrative experience
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
Preferred:
  • Medical secretarial/office training
  • Excellent customer service, multitasking, critical thinking, communication, and organizational skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and EPIC

Note: Sign-on bonus available only to external candidates. Internal candidates are ineligible.

The salary range is $16.88 to $33.22 per hour, based on experience and location. We are committed to equitable pay and comprehensive benefits.
