GENERAL FUNCTION

This role supports the practice by coordinating daily operations involving doctors, visitors, and patients. It ensures an excellent patient experience by efficiently linking the doctor and other practice functions, establishing the practice as the premier destination for all vision needs in the community.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Greet patients promptly.
  2. Answer calls courteously and promptly.
  3. Schedule appointments to optimize patient satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization.
  4. Keep appointments on schedule, notify doctors of arrivals, and communicate delays.
  5. Make reminder calls for appointments and order pickups.
  6. Manage financial records, collect charges, and handle third-party claims.
  7. Maintain office inventory and equipment, checking stock levels and ordering supplies as needed.
  8. Protect patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA.
  9. Verify medical and vision insurance eligibility.
  10. Maintain office systems and ensure a safe working environment.
  11. Follow policies and procedures, reporting needed changes.
  12. Support team efforts by completing related tasks.
  13. Work weekends and evenings as needed.
  14. Adhere to attendance, dress code, and timekeeping policies.
  15. Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. At least 2 years of office experience in healthcare.
  3. Strong customer service skills.
  4. Effective communication and listening skills.
  5. Problem-solving ability.
  6. Organizational skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Experience with in-store technology and software applications.
  2. Knowledge of vision insurance plans and office operations.
  3. Strong interpersonal skills.
