Job Description - PATIENT CARE ASST-MRICU-24HR Rotating Shift (11p-7:30a, 3p-11:30p, 7a-3:30p) (252425)

Provides direct and indirect patient care duties under the guidance of the Registered Nurse. Responsible for implementing components of the care plan based on physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs. Ensures patient comfort, safety, and emergency measures; assists with activities of daily living such as personal care, nutritional, and elimination needs. Measures vital signs, performs ECGs, and capillary blood glucose testing. Observes and reports the functioning of equipment, treatment results, dressing conditions, and any changes in patient condition. Incorporates the Hospital's Customer Service Program into all patient care activities, emphasizing confidentiality, responsiveness, and caring. Reports to the Nurse Manager or designee and adheres to departmental policies and procedures.

If certification is not present at hire, the employee must complete the onsite nursing certification program within 90 days of hire.

Education
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
  • Preferred: Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant Program or completion of at least one clinical rotation in an accredited Nursing program
Experience
  • 1 Year experience in a patient care role (Preferred)
License/Certifications
  • BLS - Basic Life Support (Required)
  • Preferred: CMA - Certified Medical Assistant, CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant
