Job summary

Mass General Brigham in Boston is seeking a Per Diem Patient Care Assistant to support licensed staff with daily living activities and basic care at 90 Blossom Street. You will work onsite with rotating shifts and assist with patient comfort and safety.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Performs vital signs, weights/heights, intakes and outputs with accuracy within established timeframes.
• Completes all documentation in the medical record as required.
• Interacts with patients and their families effectively.
• Helps patients with basic hygiene tasks such as bathing and dressing.
• Assists with turning and repositioning in bed and transfers to a wheelchair.
• Reports patient health concerns to the nurses.

Job Summary Summary

Working under the direction of licensed personnel, assists patients with activities of daily living tasks such as bathing, dressing, and eating. Does this position require Patient Care? Yes

Essential Functions

• Performs vital signs, weights/heights, intakes and outputs with accuracy and within established time frame and/or as requested.
• Completes all documentation in the medical record as required.
• Interacts with patients and their families effectively.
• Helps patients with a number of basic hygiene tasks.
• This may include bathing and dressing patients, helping them use the toilet if needed and feeding them.
• Assists with helping patients turn and reposition themselves in bed as needed and help them move between the bed and a wheelchair if they use one.
• Listens to any health concerns patients may have and report those concerns to the nurses.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred
• Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No

Licenses and Credentials

• Basic Life Support [BLS] - Generic - HR Only preferred

Experience

• Patient Care Experience: 0-1 year preferred
