Come join our Nursing family and be an integral part of our med/surg telemetry team! We offer an extensive onboarding experience with a dedicated Preceptor that includes continuing education, SIM lab, and a dedicated professional development specialist. Our Patient Care Associates (PCA) collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and carry out a patient-centered plan of care. This position involves treating a diverse patient population with various medical conditions and post-surgical care needs. The medical-surgical PCA provides direct nursing care in accordance with Bristol Health's established policies, procedures, and evidence-based protocols. Tasks and responsibilities include:

  1. Performs a wide variety of patient care tasks utilizing a Patient Focused Care model.
  2. Follows standardized procedures prescribed in a clinical pathway, including activities related to direct care, diagnostic testing, patient transport, and documentation, as directed by RN.
  3. Orienting and mentoring new team members, following universal precautions utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment.

Educational / Minimum Requirements

  1. Basic life Support (BLS) - Active CPR certificate required
  2. High School Diploma or equivalent
  3. Active CNA certificate or One (1) year of experience in a role as a PCA, Ed Tech, or CNA in acute or long-term care. Good Communication Skills
  4. OR 3rd year BSN student who has completed two clinical rotations
  5. Medical Assistant
  6. OR EMT

Must be willing to be floated or reassigned to another department, unit, office, or location as needed.
