Job summary

St. Joseph’s Wayne Medical Center is hiring a Patient Care Associate to support acutely ill patients with daily activities and basic care in the Med/Surg unit in Wayne, NJ.

This on-site, part-time role includes assisting with activities of daily living, maintaining a safe environment, and performing EKGs and venipuncture as directed by the RN. Qualified candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, BLS certification, and a PCA/PCT diploma or CNA certification with related

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• BLS certification within 6 months of hire.
• PCA/PCT diploma with 6 months to 1 year of healthcare experience within the last 6 months.
• CNA certification or PCA/PCT diploma with NHCA certification.
• Enrolled in an accredited nursing school program and has completed Nursing Fundamentals level coursework in lieu of PCA/PCT diploma/certification.
• Evidence of Nursing Fundamentals coursework or Nursing Assistant training completion.
• PCA/PCT, Home Health Aide or CMA experience.
• Effective BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications through the American Heart Association.

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification OR PCA/PCT diploma with National Health Career Association certification OR
• Enrolled in an accredited nursing school program and has completed Nursing Fundamentals level coursework in lieu of PCA/PCT diploma/certification OR
• Provides evidence of completion in Nursing Fundamental level coursework OR Evidence of Completion in of a Nursing Assistant training program OR
• PCA/PCT, Home Health Aide or CMA experience
