Job summary

Memorial Healthcare System is seeking a patient care technician to provide basic patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse in a hospital setting in Hollywood, FL. You will assist with routine tasks, monitor vital signs, perform EKG testing and phlebotomy, and help patients with daily living activities.

The role requires some patient care experience, completion of a formal training program or certification, and competency in EKG and phlebotomy within six months of hire.

Qualifications

• No Degree or any other education earned (Required).
• EKG and phlebotomy competencies are required within six (6) months of hire date.
• Three (3) months of patient care experience demonstrating the ability to perform basic patient care or certification of completion from formal training program required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with keeping patient rooms/areas stocked, clean, and orderly.
• Assist with transporting patients, as needed.
• Perform basic patient care activities under supervision of an RN, including monitoring vital signs, EKG testing, phlebotomy, and taking blood glucose measurements.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, and eating.
• Monitor patient status and report abnormal findings to nursing staff.
