An established industry player is seeking a dedicated technical support professional to assist physicians and nurses in delivering exceptional patient care. This role involves performing vital tasks such as EKGs, phlebotomy, and managing materials, ensuring that patients receive the highest quality of care. Provides technical support to physicians and nurses. Assists professional staff by participating in direct and indirect patient care, including performing EKGs, finger stick glucose tests, phlebotomy, wound care, obtaining and recording vital signs, and managing materials and equipment as directed by the professional staff and in accordance with approved policies and procedures. Applies a variety of orthopedic splints, applies post-suture and superficial abrasion dressings, and assists patients with correct crutch fitting.
High school diploma or equivalent required. Must meet one of the following: (1) Recent experience in a comparable role in a hospital setting or (2) a valid current and active certification from a credentialing organization approved by Valley Health System.
Previous experience in performing phlebotomy/EKG and basic emergency care, operating emergency room equipment, and utilizing various software applications is strongly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of basic anatomy and physiology.
Qualifications may vary depending on the assigned area. Must be able to perform work accurately with attention to detail within specified time frames, handle frequent interruptions, and adapt to workload and schedule changes. Ability to work cooperatively with healthcare team members, staff, and co-workers. Must be able to set priorities, solve problems, and respond quickly to emergency requests. Effective communication skills (oral and written) are essential to meet the diverse needs of neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
