An established healthcare provider is seeking a dedicated technical support professional to assist physicians and nurses in delivering exceptional patient care. This role involves performing essential tasks such as EKGs, phlebotomy, and managing patient materials. Candidates should possess a high school diploma and relevant experience or certification. Provides technical support to physicians and nurses. Assists professional staff by participating in direct and indirect patient care, including performing EKGs, finger stick glucose tests, phlebotomy, wound care, obtaining and recording vital signs, and managing materials and maintenance as directed by the professional staff and in accordance with approved policies and procedures. Applies a variety of orthopedic splints, applies post-suture and superficial abrasion dressings, and assists patients with correct crutch fitting.
High school diploma or equivalent required. Must meet one of the following requirements: (1) Recent experience in a comparable role in a hospital setting or (2) a valid current and active certification from a credentialing organization approved by Valley Health System.
Previous experience in performing phlebotomy/EKG and basic emergency care, operating emergency room equipment, and using computer software applications is strongly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of basic anatomy and physiology.
Qualifications may vary depending on the assigned area. Must be able to perform work accurately with attention to detail within specified time frames, handle frequent interruptions, and adapt to changes in workload and schedule. Ability to work cooperatively with healthcare team members, staff, and co-workers. Ability to set priorities, solve problems, and respond quickly to emergency requests. Effective communication skills (oral and written) and ability to meet the care needs of neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
