Job summary

Planned Parenthood of Greater New York (PPGNY) is seeking a Patient Care Associate to join our multidisciplinary clinic team. You will handle patient intake at the front desk, review medical history, provide education on sexual and reproductive health, and document in the EHR to support accurate care and billing.

The role requires a Medical Assistant certification, phlebotomy training, and at least one year of MA experience; we value flexibility, strong customer service, and commitment to health

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Medical Assistant certification from an accredited program.
• Phlebotomy certification required.
• Minimum 1 year of Medical Assistant work experience.
• Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR).
• Commitment to health equity and respectful patient care.
• Flexibility in schedule including evenings or Saturdays.

Responsibilities

• Handle patient intake at the clinic front desk and obtain medical history.
• Educate patients about human sexuality, family planning, and general health.
• Document in the electronic medical record using templates and forms.
• Assist in clinic operations, ensure wait times are minimized.
• Ensure charge capture and accurate CVR data for services.
• Provide interpretation support as needed and assist in abortion services.
• Maintain BLS certification and participate in competency training.
