Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a patient care support role to assist in clinical functions under the direction of a registered nurse. Responsibilities include vital signs, EKGs, patient assistance, and documentation to promote safe, compassionate care.

The position requires high school diploma or equivalent and healthcare experience. Onsite work at 3 Dove Ave; schedule includes 24 hours weekly with day shift. BLS and nursing assistant credentials preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient care-related duties and clinical functions as assigned, including, but not limited to, performing and documenting point of care, vital signs, EKGs, bathing and other sanitary needs of patients, transferring and assisting with ambulation of patients, feeding patients, etc.
• Ensure that patient rooms are stocked, equipped, and cleaned appropriately, as needs indicate and as patient volumes change.
• Performs specimen collection and documents all appropriate information.
• Retrieves equipment from other areas, sets up equipment, cleans equipment between patient use, and reports malfunctioning equipment per organizational policy.
• Documents patient information, such as height, weight, intake of fluids and food, output of urine/stool/vomit/other drainage, and blood glucose results.
• Assist patients with food tray setup and eating if necessary.
• Communicate with nursing staff in an effective and timely manner around issues related to patient care and patient condition.
• Receive and direct Medical Staff, personnel, patients, and visitors.

Licenses and Credentials

• Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] - Data Conversion - Various Issuers preferred
• Nursing Assistant [LNA - New Hampshire] - New Hampshire Board of Nursing preferred

Experience

Healthcare experience 1-2 years required
