Job summary

Mass General Brigham's Newton-Wellesley Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Associate (PCA) to support an interdisciplinary care team under the supervision of a licensed nurse. This 40-hour daytime role is onsite in Newton, MA, with shift coverage including weekends and holidays as listed.

Certification as CNA/PCT/MA/EMT or equivalent experience required; nursing students enrolled in BSN or direct-entry masters programs are preferred.

Qualifications

• Certification as a CNA, PCT, MA, EMT or commensurate experience required, unless incumbent is currently enrolled in the NWH Patient Care Associate Training Program, or is a nursing student who has completed fundamentals of nursing with a clinical component.
• For nursing students hired as PCAs, strongly prefer nursing students enrolled in BSN programs or direct-entry Masters’ programs.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of a registered/licensed nurse (RN), the PCA assists in clinical support functions to promote a safe, compassionate patient care environment.
• Works onsite as part of the interdisciplinary health care team, providing essential patient care support.
