Job summary

Mercy Hospital St. Louis Critical Care Medicine Fellowship is seeking a patient care assistant to support nursing staff under the supervision of RNs or LPNs.

The role emphasizes compassionate, team-based patient care and adherence to clinical procedures and safety standards. Training will be provided; candidates should be ready to complete a 175-hour program within 90 days and obtain BLS within one month of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; CNA/CPTC preferred.
• BLS certification required within 1 month of hire.
• No prior healthcare experience required.
• 175-hour training program if no prior experience must be completed within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist in individualized patient care under RN or LPN direction.
• Perform designated clinical procedures and non-clinical support tasks.
• Meet state health service training requirements within 90 days of hire.
• Maintain safety by meeting minimum physical requirements including lifting 50 pounds and standing/walking each shift.
