The Opportunity: Patient Care Assistant-Surgical Trauma- White 7
White 7 is a twenty-seven-bed adult inpatient unit specializing in general surgical (primarily major abdominal procedures) and multi-trauma patients. It is a fast-paced, dynamic environment where innovative interventions are common, and patients are referred from around the globe for specialized care provided by our nursing and physician staff.
Under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN), the Patient Care Assistant (PCA) supports the multidisciplinary healthcare team in delivering clinical support to ensure a safe and detailed patient care environment. Responsibilities include assisting patients with daily living activities, monitoring and recording vital signs, drawing blood, and acquiring EKGs. The PCA responds promptly to patient requests, maintains confidentiality, supervises patient safety, and communicates respectfully at all times.
