Job summary

Jobtailor is seekingCertified Nursing Assistants to provide compassionate care at our center in Boston. The role requires assisting with daily living activities, maintaining clean environments, monitoring vitals, and documenting care in electronic records.

Applicants should have CNA certification, be fluent in English, and able to pass a PCA skills test. Enrollment in nursing school and the ability to work both independently and with a team are preferred.

Qualifications

  • CNA certification required in good standing upon hire (preferred for long-term PCA roles).
  • Current enrollment in nursing school with first clinical experience may qualify for PCA roles.
  • Fluent English (verbal and written) is required.
  • Computer literacy required to document care and communicate with teams.
  • Must complete mandatory HSL/HRC educational requirements and programs.
  • Must pass PCA skills test with a score of 70% or greater.

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living and personal care per care plans.
  • Protect, sustain, and nurture patients living at the Center.
  • Maintain patients’ environments, including rooms and common areas.
  • Recognize and respond to patient and family needs; communicate changes to the nursing team.
  • Document care delivered in patients’ electronic medical records; report incidents as needed.
  • Follow Safe Patient Handling practices and maintain a no-manual-lift environment.
  • Participate in quality improvement, daily reports, care planning and committee meetings.
  • Observe and report skin integrity; obtain vital signs and specimens as directed.
  • Prepare, serve, and clean up meals and snacks; engage patients in life enrichment activities.

Job description

  • Protect, sustain, and nurture patients living at the Center
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living and personal care according to care plans
  • Maintain patients’ environments, including rooms and common program areas
  • Recognize and respond to patient and family needs
  • Communicate changes in patient condition to the appropriate nursing team member
  • Adhere to Safe Patient Handling practices and maintain a no-manual-lift environment
  • Participate in Quality Improvement programs, daily reports, care planning meetings, and committee meetings
  • Document care delivered in patients’ electronic medical records
  • Report accidents, incidents, and suspected patient abuse
  • Observe and report skin integrity
  • Obtain vital signs and specimens as directed
  • Follow infection control practices and maintain patient confidentiality and privacy
  • Facilitate life enrichment activities that encourage patient engagement
  • Prepare, serve, and clean up after meals and snacks
  • Communicate effectively with peers, team members, patients, and families
  • Perform other duties as assigned and trained
Requirements
  • Certified Nursing Assistant certification is preferred in good standing upon hire for long-term chronic care PCA and MCU PCA roles
  • Current enrollment in a nursing school and completion of the first clinical experience may qualify for long-term chronic care PCA and MCU PCA roles
  • Certified Nursing Assistant certification is required in good standing upon hire and ongoing for RSU PCA
  • Fluent English skills required, verbal and written
  • Computer literacy required
  • Flexibility and ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Must complete mandatory HSL/HRC educational requirements and programs
  • Must pass the PCA skills test with a score of 70% or greater
