Job summary

USA Health is seeking a part-time patient care assistant to support nursing staff on a mobile care unit. You will assist with activities of daily living, take vital signs, document accurately, and help maintain clean patient areas and equipment. The role requires quick reporting to RNs and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or equivalent and BCLS certification. A flexible schedule and the ability to work overtime as needed are expected, with benefits

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire required.
• Comparable combination of education and experience may substitute for the above requirements.

Responsibilities

• Receives verbal/written assignments from RN/LPN.
• Assists patients with Activities of Daily Living.
• Reports any changes in patient condition to RN/LPN.
• Maintains clean and neatly stocked areas and patient rooms.
• Cleans equipment between patient uses.
• Operates unit equipment as required.
• Runs unit errands as needed.
• Assists with admission, discharge, and transfer of patients.
• Answers patient call lights promptly; keeps hallway clear of equipment.
• Distributes water and ice.
• Maintains 24-hour urine collections.
• Performs catheter checks and blood glucose monitoring.
• Takes and records vital signs and weight; records intake/output.
• Signs/initials documentation.
• Documents patient turns and repositioning.
• Reports skin conditions to RN.
• Assists with completion of daily flow sheet.
• Responds to overhead pages.
• Participates in orientation of new employees.
• Maintains electronic and paper medical records.
• Completes all mandatory department, educational and hospital requirements.
• Adheres to Infection Control and Safety Standards.
• Regular and prompt attendance.
• Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required.
• Related duties as assigned.

Additional Information

Employees must be in a regular position, working 20 hours or more per week (.50 FTE or greater) to qualify for benefits.
