Role: Patient Care Assistant

Shift: Day shift, 7a-7p

Responsibilities include:

1. Monitoring patient safety through checks, safety monitoring, and maintaining a safe milieu, including 15-minute checks, contraband monitoring, condition evaluation, and providing line of sight or one-on-one care as directed.
2. Following RN delegated tasks such as vital signs, specimen collection, documentation, group education, and patient monitoring.
3. Effective milieu management to promote positive patient experiences.
4. Assisting patients with off-unit activities, including meals, outside breaks, visits, and appointments.
5. Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma preferred.
• Experience in a psychiatric healthcare setting, especially with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric, or geriatric patients, is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license, favorable MVR, and proof of insurance required when using personal or hospital vehicles.
• CPR certification and Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) within 30 days of employment and prior to patient contact.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
