Responsibilities

The Patient Care Assistant assists patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care, and helps maintain a safe environment under the supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit.

Qualifications

Education, Experience, and Training:

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
  2. Current Phlebotomy certification upon hire (preferred).
  3. Current EKG certification upon hire (preferred).
  4. Current BLS (AHA) certification upon hire and must be maintained.
  5. Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
  6. Minimum six months of experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office (preferred).

Facility Specific Requirements:

  1. Current Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certificate within 6 months of hire and must be maintained as per facility requirements.
Compensation and Benefits

Saint Francis Hospital offers competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package, including paid time off, a 401K retirement plan, medical, dental, and vision coverage, tuition reimbursement, and voluntary benefits. The estimated total compensation range for this role is $18.90 to $28.01, which includes wages, benefits, and other compensation. The exact starting salary will be determined based on factors such as skillset, experience, education, credentials, and licensure at the time of hire.
