The Opportunity: Patient Care Assistant – Emergency Department

The Emergency Department is a Level I Trauma Center for adult, pediatric, and burn cases, divided into several specialized areas including pediatric and psychiatric units.

Schedule: (3) 12-hour evening shifts, 11 am – 11 pm, 36 hours/week, with rotating holidays and weekends.

Job Summary

Under the supervision of licensed personnel, assists patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and eating. Takes vital signs, and documents medical information accurately. Communicates effectively with patients and families, assists with hygiene, repositioning, and mobility, and reports health concerns to nurses.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred
• Certifications: BLS, Certified Medical Assistant, EMT-Basic, or Nursing Assistant preferred
• 1-2 years experience in patient or elder care preferred
• Skills: Ability to follow instructions, knowledge of medical terminology, strong customer service, ability to lift 35 pounds, proficient in electronic medical records
