Responsibilities

The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) supports nursing staff with delegated tasks of direct and indirect patient care, within the scope of a certified nursing assistant as defined by the Arizona State Board of Nursing. The role requires knowledge of growth and development principles and effective communication of patient data. Flexibility in working hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, is essential.

Our Neuroscience and Otolaryngology Medical Surgical Unit specializes in neurological and ENT patient care, staffed with resources like an Education Resource Nurse and a 36-bed telemetry monitored unit caring for diverse populations such as stroke neurology, epilepsy, head and neck cancer, and complex medical conditions.

We emphasize advocacy, teamwork, mutual respect, continuous learning, and comprehensive benefits to support our staff’s growth and well-being.

During the selection process, candidates may participate in a virtual (pre-recorded) interview, with opportunities for re-recording responses.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Basic Life Support certification required upon hire, valid for at least 90 days from start date.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completion of Block 1 in Nursing.
  • Medical Assistant (MA).
  • Nursing Assistant (CNA or LNA).
  • Six months of recent healthcare experience.

Additional Details

  • Exemption Status: Nonexempt.
  • Compensation: $20.00/hr - $25.09/hr plus night shift differential.
  • Benefits Eligible: Yes.
  • Schedule: Full-time, nights, 3 x 12-hour shifts/week, including weekends.
