Job Description

UC Health is hiring a Part-time Patient Care Assistant (PCA) for the day shift at West Chester Hospital.

The Patient Care Assistant will provide basic direct patient care as delegated by clinical professional personnel, in accordance with delegation law and rules, and current education. This position will work at West Chester Hospital and maintain an orderly, clean, and safe environment for patients and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Provide culturally sensitive and age-specific patient care, including vital signs, specimen collection, and assistance with ADLs.
• Ensure hygiene, comfort, and safety, including linens, drainage bags, and bodily waste disposal.
• Assist with respiratory care, perform EKGs, blood draws, and blood glucose testing.
• Communicate observations to RNs, document treatments, and respond to nurse call systems.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment, report maintenance issues, and stock materials.
• Answer call lights promptly, ensure patient identification, and apply safety measures such as side rails and restraints as per policy.
