Trinity Health Chelsea Emergency Department in Chelsea, MI is seeking a Part-time Patient Care Assistant for the 7pm-7am night shift. The PCA provides direct patient care under a registered nurse, maintains a safe, clean environment, and supports patient and family well-being.

Training is provided; HIPAA confidentiality is emphasized. The role requires handling ADLs and continuous observation, with weekend and holiday rotation every third weekend.

Responsabilidades

• Provide continuous observation and monitoring of assigned patients.
• Notify nursing staff if the patient requires assistance, control, or other nursing intervention.
• Be knowledgeable and supportive of patient confidentiality and hospital policies (HIPAA).
• Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, toileting, positioning, turning, transferring, ambulation with devices, feeding and menu selection.
• Record patient information and required data in appropriate areas to meet documentation requirements.

Description: Patient Care Assistant Department: Emergency - Our Chelsea Emergency Department has experienced physicians and nurses with advanced training in emergency medicine that provide care 365 days a year in the 24-hour Emergency Department. More than 18,000 patients are treated each year for emergencies ranging from life threatening cardiac arrests and strokes, to major injuries and accidents, to more minor injuries. Facilities include a five bay observation center for observation and testing before returning home, as well as 20 private exam rooms adding a greater degree of privacy for patients.

Position Purpose

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or a minimum of 18 years of age.
• Recent experience desired.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance.
• Ability to lift greater than 35 pounds using mechanical assistance.

Shift Available: 7pm-7am. Status Available: Part time, benefit eligible (48 hours per pay period – every two weeks) Every 3rd Weekend rotation and holiday requirements.
