Job summary

Brigham and Women's Hospital, Inc. in Boston is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to assist patients with activities of daily living, monitor vital signs, and document in the electronic medical record under licensed personnel.

Duties include helping with bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility, turning and repositioning, and communicating health concerns to nurses. Evening onsite role at 75 Francis Street with a $750 sign-on bonus for eligible new hires.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• BLS certification preferred.
• Experience working in patient care/elder care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs vital signs, weights/heights, intakes, and outputs.
• Completes documentation in the medical record.
• Interacts with patients and families effectively.
• Assists with bathing, dressing, toileting, and feeding.
• Assists with turning and repositioning, and moving between bed and wheelchair.
• Reports health concerns to nurses.

Also assists with taking patients' temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration.Does this position require Patient Care? YesEssential Functions-Performs vital signs, weights/heights, intakes, and outputs with accuracy and within established time frame and/or as requested.-Completes all documentation in the medical record as required.-Interacts with patients and their families effectively.-Helps patients with a number of basic hygiene tasks. This may include bathing and dressing patients, helping them use the toilet if needed, and feeding them.-Assist with helping patients turn and reposition themselves in bed as needed and help them move between the bed and a wheelchair if they use one.-Listens to any health concerns patients may have and report those concerns to the nurses.QualificationsEducation High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree?
