Job summary

Orlando Health, Inc. is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide direct patient care under the supervision of licensed staff. You will assist with hygiene, mobility, hydration, and daily activities while contributing to a clean, safe patient environment.

The role requires basic nursing support experience or eligible training, with certification upkeep (BLS/Healthcare Provider). You will participate in care handoffs, incident reporting, and routine rounds in a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• 1 year of nursing assistant work experience in past five years or eligible trainings.
• Complete one of the listed training programs or licensure as Florida CNA/LPN/ Nursing graduate.
• Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.

Responsibilities

• Assists patient with hygiene, mobility, hydration, elimination and nutritional needs.
• Provides routine treatments and maintains a safe, clean, neat, and organized patient environment.
• Maintains safety and security of patients, families, self, and other members of the healthcare team.
• Assures patient privacy, rights, and confidentiality.
• Follows standard precautions, always washes hands between patients.
• Assists with admission, transfer, and discharge of patients.
• Takes and records vital signs as directed.
• Obtains data and documents pertinent patient information per Orlando Health policies.
• Communicates safety concerns regarding patient condition to RN or healthcare team.
• Participates in handoff report and hourly rounding.
• Provides exceptional service and care to patients, families, customers and team members.
• Demonstrates competency in unit-specific tasks and nursing competencies.
• Keeps nursing unit clean, neat, safe, and organized.
• Receives and processes calls, patient calls and guest requests.
• Transports and delivers items, equipment, blood products, and medications.
• Maintains regular attendance according to Orlando Health policies.

Education

High school graduate or equivalent

Nursing Assistant Program

Florida CNA certification

Florida LPN licensure

Graduate of an approved school of nursing

Medical Corpsman/EMT/Paramedic

Licensure/Certification from outside the US
