Job summary

Emerus in Greensburg, PA is seeking a dedicated Patient Care Assistant to support nursing staff in our small-format hospital. You will assist with indirect and direct patient care, monitor vital signs, assist with meals, mobility, and transport, under the supervision of an RN.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, BLS, and CNA preferred; hospital experience is valued. This full-time position offers shift differentials and a 401(k) match, with opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Certified Nursing Assistant, preferred.
• Current BLS certification, required.
• 2 years of work experience in an acute care hospital as a Nursing Assistant, required (this is preferred for hires in Oklahoma).
• Fluency in English, written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced indirect and selected direct patient care under the supervision of an RN within the PCA scope.
• Take patient vitals, perform blood glucose checks, EKGs, monitor intake/output and maintain related records.
• Assist with meals, bathing, mobility, transports, and housekeeping in patient rooms.
• Promote safe care adhering to policies and procedures within budget and supply constraints.
