Job summary

OakBend Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to support licensed nursing staff in the Medical/Surgical Unit under supervision. The PCA helps with patient care and safety while assisting with clerical tasks to keep the unit running smoothly.

The role includes observer/sitter duties when required to maximize safety, and requires basic clinical skills, data entry ability, and CPR/BLS certification. Prior healthcare experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent; relevant experience in lieu of diploma considered.
• Experience in an accredited healthcare facility preferred.
• BLS/CPR certification required; nursing/healthcare credentials may be accepted as listed.
• Knowledge of vital signs and activities of daily living; data entry for care documentation.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed nursing staff in providing care to patients in Medical/Surgical Unit.
• Provide observer/sitter services to maximize patient safety as needed.
• Offer clerical support for unit functions and documentation.
