Department: Telemetry

Shift: Per Diem, PRN Day 12 Hour Shift

Hospital: Resurrection Medical Center

Location: Chicago, IL 60631

Responsibilities

The Patient Care Assistant II (PCA II) is a certified professional who provides direct care within the department. Responsibilities include assisting patients with activities of daily living, providing basic nursing care, and maintaining a safe environment under the supervision of an RN, ensuring that activities do not interfere with dysrhythmia monitoring.

Qualifications

Education, Experience, and Training:

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
  2. Current certification in patient care (e.g., M.A., CNA, EMT, Paramedic, Patient Care Tech).
  3. Current Dysrhythmia Interpretation Certificate (preferred to be maintained).
  4. Current BLS (AHA) certification.
  5. Six months of previous experience as a Monitor Technician (preferred).
  6. Phlebotomy certification (preferred).
  7. EKG certification (preferred).
  8. Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
  9. Minimum six months of experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office (preferred).

Facility Specific Requirements:

  1. Current Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certificate within 6 months of hire, maintained as per facility policy.

Resurrection Medical Center offers competitive compensation. The estimated starting salary is approximately $24.76/hour, with the final offer based on skills, experience, education, credentials, and licensure.
