Job description

Central Resource Team (CRT) is part of a team that 'floats' to various departments within Massachusetts General Hospital, providing Patient Care Associate (PCA) care to patients requiring observation or acting as a nursing unit PCA.

The CRT is seeking a PCA with availability for Day and/or Night shifts, including rotating weekends and holidays.

Why This Role Is Important?

This position offers staff the opportunity to work across multiple hospital areas, gaining diverse experience. Collaboration with healthcare workers across disciplines is fundamental to our care at CRT. Under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN), the PCA supports the multidisciplinary healthcare team in clinical functions to promote a safe and compassionate patient care environment.

Schedule
  • Day shift (7 am - 7 pm), Night shift (7 pm - 7 am)
  • Rotational holiday and weekend schedule
What Are We Looking For?
  • PCA responsibilities include assisting patients with daily living needs, monitoring vital signs, drawing blood, and obtaining EKGs.
  • Respond promptly to patient requests, maintain patient confidentiality, monitor safety, and communicate respectfully.
  • Must be dedicated to floating, providing unit coverage, and patient observation.

Minimum Requirements
  • Recent experience and/or training in clinical patient care is required.
  • Preferred: Licensed, certified, or enrolled in a Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, Mental Health Technician, or EMT program at the time of hire, OR enrolled in a Nursing, Pre-Med, or PA undergraduate program with at least one semester of patient care rotations completed.
