Job summary

St. Mary’s Hospital - Kankakee is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to join the Telemetry unit on a per diem basis. The role involves assisting patients with activities of daily living, providing basic nursing care, and helping maintain a safe environment under the supervision of the RN in charge.

The position offers a day shift schedule (6:00 am–6:30 pm) with a minimum of four shifts per month. Requirements include a high school diploma, Illinois CNA certification, and preferred phlebotomy and

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Illinois approved Certification required.
• Current Phlebotomy certification upon hire, preferred.
• Current EKG certification upon hire, preferred.
• Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.

Pay Transparency

St. Mary's Hospital - Kankakee offers competitive compensation and a reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $21.00 to $21.00. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
