Shift: Full-Time, Nights, 12-Hour Shifts

Responsibilities

The Patient Care Assistant II (PCA II) is a certified individual who performs direct patient care in the department setting. The PCA II maintains current certification and assists patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care, and helps maintain a safe environment under the supervision of an RN, ensuring activities do not distract from primary responsibilities such as dysrhythmia monitoring.

Qualifications

Education, Experience, Training

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
  2. Current Certification in Patient Care (e.g., M.A., CNA, EMT, Paramedic, Patient Care Tech).
  3. Current Dysrhythmia Interpretation Certificate (preferred to be maintained).
  4. Current BLS (AHA) certification (required and maintained).
  5. Six months of previous experience as a Monitor Technician (preferred).
  6. Current Phlebotomy certification (preferred).
  7. Current EKG certification (preferred).
  8. Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
  9. Minimum six months of experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office (preferred).

Facility-specific requirements (may include):

  1. Current Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certificate within 6 months of hire and maintained as per facility policy.

Saint Francis Hospital offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package, including paid time off, 401K, medical/dental/vision coverage, tuition reimbursement, and voluntary benefits. The estimated total compensation range for this role is $18.90 to $28.01, depending on experience, credentials, and other factors. Final salary will be determined at hire based on these considerations.
